Oil on air-hardening clay on wood

Face-on, a calm flower of powder blue, petals fanning open from a small white-and-gold centre. Each petal shows one colour face-on and another from the side, so the work changes as the viewer moves past it: turn, and the curled edges blaze into rose, magenta, and red, struck through with fine painted lines — colour held entirely in the folds, invisible head-on.
Hand-built in air-hardening clay, finished in layered oil.
Exhibited at Mall Galleries, London, as a guest exhibitor at Wildlife Artist of the Year 2026 with the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, September 2026.
